Dr. Abdelmalek EL MESKAOUI received his a BS degree in Plant Biology from Chouaib Doukkali University, El Jadida, Morocco in 1990, an M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology from the Faculty of Agriculture and Alimentation, Laval University, Quebec, Canada in 1994. In 1995, Dr. Abdelmalek joined the Faculty of Forestry Sciences where he earned his Ph.D. in 2000. He worked as Scientist at the Horticultural Research Center from 2000 to 2001, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Forestry Research Center from 2001 to 2003, Dr. Abdelmalek joined the National Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants(INPMA); University of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah-Fez in Morocco as a Research Professor. Dr. Abdelmalek developed the plant biotechnology unit (UPB) and set up a scientific research program focuses mainly on the set of species endemic culture of Morocco included prospecting in natural population, in vitro conservation, enhancement and selection of efficient genotypes, micropropagation, tissue and cell culture, secondary metabolites...
Among our goals: the development and conservation of endemic flora of Morocco, the development of expertise, technology transfer, creation of startup (employment), and therefore contribute to the growing socioeconomic sector especially in Morocco
Dr A. El Meskaoui is a president of the Moroccan Alliance of Researchers and Industrialist for the valorization of plant resources. The main goal of the association is to promote research and development, training, and exchange of ideas between the academic and industrial sectors of plant resources.
