Adrian Alegre

Biography

Dr Adrian Alegre, is  Profesor of Medicine (Hematology) at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid (Spain) and Head of the Hematology Department at the Universitary Hospital of La Princesa (Madrid). Since 2006 is the President of the Spanish Nacional Comissión of Hematology and Hemotherapy at the Ministry of Health and is also Secretary of the Leukemia, & Lymphoma Spanish Foundation. A Alegre received his medical degree and specialization in 1.986.  as Haematologist and  Doctorate at the Universidad of Salamanca (Spain) in the filed of Hemostasia and Thromosis He is member of numerous scientific societies and scientific groups (ASH,EHA,EBMT,IMWG, European Leukemia Net, European Myeloma Net). Alegre´s specialization and research field  of interest   include hematopoietic transplantation, cellular therapy and the biology and treatment of  haematological neoplastic diseases, with special focus on multiple myeloma  and other plasma cell diseases. A Alegre has published more than 100 high impact-peer reviewed articles in these fields and numerous international abstracts and several text-books chapter: He has participated as principal investigator in relevant international clinical trials with new drugs mainly for multiple myeloma.
