Biography

Allison Del Bene Davis is a Registered Nurse who received her PhD at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in December 2006. Her degrees include a BS in Animal Science, and an MS in Community and Public Health/ Environmental Health Nursing. Dr. Del Bene Davis is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Advanced Public Health Nurse. The focus of her research is on the health effects of environmental pollutants on human health, particularly on vulnerable populations. Dr. Del Bene Davis is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has taught Applied Toxicology, Philosophy of Science and Nursing Theory, Community and Public Health Nursing, Program Planning and Evaluation and Environmental Health. She has published and presented on the social, and environmental risks that contribute to poor health outcomes in vulnerable populations.
 

Research Interest

Impact of the environment on human health, community health, health protection and promotion, risk assessment and reduction, public health, vulnerable populations, translation of the science of environmental health to practice.
