Dr Ameersing Luximon has a first class B.Tech (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Mauritius. He completed his M.Sc and PhD in Industrial Engineering and Engineering management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He is specialized in Human Factors and Ergonomics. He has worked at the American University of Armenia, and in Hong Kong industries. He is currently Assistant Professor of design at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has won several awards and fellowships. Just to name a few, as a student he was the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) Student member with honors 2001. He was the 1994-1996, recipient of the Hong Kong Commonwealth scholarship. He was also the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Post Doctoral Fellowship 2003-2005. He is very active in research. He was the guest editor for Computer Aided design Journal, International Journal of Human Factors Modeling and Simulation, and Research Journal of Textile and Apparel. He was elected the Program Chair of the HFES conferences for 2011-2012. He is scientific and organizing member of several conferences. Recently he was the editor in chief of the proceeding of the 8th International Shibori Society symposium 2011. He has published extensively and also has exhibitions.
