Dr. Angela Losardohas over 40 years of experience specializing in communication disorders and special education. Dr. Losardo is a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Her educational background includes an interdisciplinary degreeinearly intervention/early childhood special education and speech-language pathology. Dr. Losardo has considerable experience coordinating preschool programs and working as a practitioner with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of inclusive settings. She has directed research, demonstration, and personnel preparation grantsand has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, and instructional materials for practitioners. She is co-author of a book on alternative assessment approaches for young children.
Her research interests are in the areas of alternative and cross-cultural assessment procedures, comparative language/literacy interventions, autism spectrum disorders and preparing personnel to work in inclusive environments.
