Dr. Arash Kianianmomeni received his B.S. in plant breeding at Shahid Chamran University, Ahvaz, Iran in 2002. In addition, he received the M.S in biotechnological plant breeding at Technical University of Munich in 2005, Germany. In 2005, he moved to the group of Prof. Armin Hallmann at the University of Bielefeld and worked there as Ph.D student and later as research fellow in the Department of Cellular and Developmental Biology of Plants. His research focus was the characterization of cell type specific genes and analysis of light receptors function, especially light gated ion channels, in green algae. In 2010 he joined the group of Prof. Peter Hegemann at the Humboldt-University of Berlin to continue the work with algal light receptors.
