Dr. Arsalan Mirjafari earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of Isfahan in 2009. He then joined Prof. Jim Davis’s group at University of South Alabama as a Postdoctoral fellow in 2010 to work on the synthesis of bio-based ionic liquids and their application in CO2 capture. He became an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2012. His research focuses on the synthesis and applications of functionalized ionic liquids via click chemistry and their applications in gas absorption, catalysis and drug/gene delivery.
