Biography

Dr. Arun Kumar Agnihotri, Additional Professor in the Department of the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at S.S.R. Medical College, Mauritius. I completed my graduation in medicine (MBBS) from M.L.B. Medical College, in Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh), India in 1994 and post-graduation (MD) in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from M.L.N. Medical College, Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), India (1996-1999). My thesis was titled ‘Epidemiological study of Dowry Death Cases with special reference to Burnt Cases in Allahabad Zone’ .I have also completed ‘Postgraduate Certificate course in Torture Medicine’ in the year 2000 and designated as ‘Torture Counselor’. After post-graduation, I joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India as a Senior Resident in 1999. Regarding clinical experience in this field, I have conducted postmortem of different types (e.g. Transport accidents, Firearms, Stabbing, Strangulation, Hanging, Poisoning, Skeleton Examination etc.) and have also examined many clinical cases such as those of Rape, Alcoholics, Assaults, Self-inflicted injuries, Age estimation, etc. I have also visited the scene of crime in some cases requested by the investigating officer in Delhi, India. In July 2002, I have joined as Assistant professor in Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, SSR Medical College, Mauritius. He worked here as in-charge of the department and established it.
