Benedetta Cappellini

Benedetta Cappellini received her PhD from Keele University in 2011. Her research falls broadly into the areas of Consumer Culture, Critical Marketing and Sociology of Consumption. Topics she has recently studied include food cultures, meal practices, austerity, intensive mothering and domestic violence. She has published in journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management; Consumption, Markets and Culture, Sociology and the Sociological Review. She has co-edited a book entitled The Practice of the Meal: Food Families and the Marketplace (with Prof. Elisabeth Parsons and Prof. David Marshall) and she is currently editing a book on mothering and food consumption (with Dr. Vicki Harman and Dr. Charlotte Faircloth).
My main research areas are food consumption, domestic consumption practices, ethnography and qualitative methods.
