Bulent Gulekli

Biography

Bulent Gulekli is professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, University of Dokuz Eylul, Izmir, Turkey; he is being serving the department as chairman in the last 5 years. He became Director of the IVF Unit since 2002. He received his Medical Degree in 1982 at the University of Hacettepe, Turkey. He did his Residency in Obstetrics & GYnecology Dr Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Hospital, Ankara, Turkey between 1985-1989 and he worked as Clinical Research Fellow, University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, Department of Reproductive Endocrinology, London, 1990 – 1992. He became an Associate Professor in 1993 and Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology in January 2001. He worked in the McGill Reproductive Center at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal Canada from January 1999 to November 2000 as a “Visiting Professor”. He is one of the pioneers in Turkey in the use of in-vitro maturation of human oocytes for the treatment of infertility.  He is the author and co-author of over 100 scientific publications and 18 book chapters in prestigious scientific journals
