Biography

Dr. Serezani obtained his PhD degree atthe University of Sao Paulo in 2005 andjoined Dr. Marc Peters Golden laboratoryattheUniversityof Michigan as a ResearchFellowfrom 2006 to 2009. In thisperiod, his major research interests were the role ofeicosanoids, leukotrienesandprostaglandins in the modulationofphagocytos is andmicrobicidal activity in alveolar macrophages challenged with IgG opsonizedtargets. Duringhis training, hewasawardedan American Lung Association Senior Post-doctoral Fellowship. Since 2009, Dr. Serezani hasbecome a junior faculty at theUniversity of Michigan and his research program deals with thep articipationof diferente G protein coupled receptor secondmessengers in thegeneration of microRNAsi nvolved in macrophage responses. His workisnowsupportedbythe American Heart Associationand NIH/NHLBI grants.

Research Interest

Innate immunity, macrophage biology, transcription regulation of macrophage activatiom, microRNA and innate immunity, eicosanoids, leukotrienes and prostaglandins.
