Dr. Wade has been in the field of traumatic injury research for over 25 years. After completing his Ph.D. and two fellowships he joined the faculty at the Letterman Army Medical Center in the department of clinical investigation. From 1990 to 2004 Dr. Wade was Project Scientist for NASA in the Life Sciences division. In 2005 he joined the US Army Institute of Surgical Research as Senior Scientist. Dr. Wade is currently Professor of Surgery and Deputy Director for the Center for Translational Injury Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He has published over 200 articles relating to the care of the critically injured patient. He serves as a member of various professional organizations, as well as a reviewer for many reputed trauma related journals. Dr. Wade has also served as a mentor to train residents and staff to develop their skills in translational research.
