Bryan is a physiotherapy specialist in neurology and has over 20 years’ experience in rehabilitation services. He is particularly interested in enhancing function of patients, for example application of robotic-assisted gait training for stroke patient (Certificate User of Lokomat ®), using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation to reduce spasticity of spinal cord injury (SCI) patient, and tailor-made exercise training according to patient’s exercise limitation (Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist®). As a member of Joint CUHK-NTEC Clinical Research Ethics Committee, he is particular interested in evidence-based practice through clinical research. His research interest is in the field of neurological rehabilitation especially SCI and stroke, for example applying electrical stimulation to normalize muscle tone of SCI patients (Publication in Clinical Rehabilitation, 2010), exploring the effect of different combination of treatment approaches for stroke patients (Publication in Hong Kong Physiotherapy Journal, 2014) and study the effectiveness of robotic-assisted gait training in stroke patients (Publication in Hong Kong Physiotherapy Journal, 2017).
