Biography

Dr. Dan Arin Silasi has joined the faculty of the Section of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics, GynecologyReproductive Sciences as Assistant Professor as of July 2008. Dan first came to New Haven as a fellow in Gynecologic Oncology in 2005. Dan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania and trained in Otolaryngology. In the United States he trained in Internal Medicine at New York University, followed by residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas in San Antonio and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Yale University. He received the José Asis Memorial Award while a Yale Fellow. During fellowship, he began research into mechanisms of chemoresistance in ovarian cancer under the guidance of Gil Mor, MD, PhD. Dan has multiple original research peerreviewed publications. Dans clinical interests include all gynecologic malignancies, and he has a particular interest in robotic surgery. Dr. Silasi is available for appointments immediately at the Yale Gynecologic Oncology New Haven office at 800 Howard Ave, and at the Bridgeport Hospital office.

Gynecologic cancers (ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers); Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia; Complicated laparoscopic surgery; Robotic surgery; Advanced and complicated pelvic surgery; Chemotherapy for gynecologic cancers.
