David Misek is Research Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Michigan, and is a member of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center and the University of Michigan Gastrointestinal Peptide Research Center. He received his B.S. from Colorado State University and his Ph.D. from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and at The University of Michigan. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 papers/review articles/book chapters and has been awarded five US patents. He has served as Lead Guest Editor of a Special Edition of the International Journal of Proteomics. He has served on NIH Study Sections, as an ad hoc reviewer of grants for four granting agencies and as an ad hoc reviewer of papers for 17 Journals.
Cancer-related proteomic and genomic alterations in the cell, in cancer-related changes in protein glycosylation and in biomarkers for the early detection of cancer.
