Dr. Jagat Bir Phogat

Biography

Dr. Jagat Bir Phogat has received M.V. Sc. (Veterinary Gynaecology and Obst.) from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. During the period of 1987. Currently, working as Professor and Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Complex, Lala Lajpatrai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Published nearly 70 research papers in national and international journals. Presented 26 papers in International Conferences in India, U.K., Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Poland and Nepal. Presented 33 papers in national conferences and Authored several chapters in books and practical manuals. He had received several Awards like: • Awarded Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship (Germany) for advance research during 2000-2001. • Awarded Commonwealth Scholarship for pursuing Ph.D. in U.K. (1993 to 1996) • Awarded German Academic Exchange Fellowship by DAAD (Germany) in 1993 (not availed due to proceeding on Commonwealth Scholarship for Ph.D). • Award of Outstanding Performance in Research in Animal Reproduction by Society for Science and Nature, Lucknow during its seminar in Dec. 2016. • Awarded appreciation letter from the Vice-chancellor, CCS H.A.U., Hisar for out standing contribution in Teaching, Research and Extension during the period 1998 to 2003. • Awarded University Merit Fellowship during M.V.Sc. • Awarded Rhoda Le Merchant Banks Travel Scholarship by University of Liverpool Research Committee, UK to attend Society for Study of Fertility Meeting held at Dublin (Ireland) w.e.f. July 4-6, 1995. • Awarded Travel Grant by Society for the Study of Fertility (Cambridge) to Attend SSF International Conference, held at Nottingham (UK) w.e.f. July 16-18, 1996 and Aberystwyth (Wales, UK) w.e.f. July 5-7, 1999. • Awarded Travel Grant by British Council (London) to attend International Conference “Neuroendocrine Aspects of Reproduction “held at Jablonna, Warsaw, Poland, Sept. 22-25, 1996. • Awarded Travel Grant by Association of Commonwealth Universities, London to attend Society for the Study of Fertility Meeting held at Nottingham, U.K., July, 14-16, 1996. • Awarded Travel Grant by British Council, London to attend Society for the Study of Fertility Meeting held at Oxford, U.K., July, 14-16, 1994. • Awarded/Donated RIA GAMA Counter (costing Rs. 10 Lakhs) by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany in the year 2010. • Recommended by University Grants Commission of India for Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship in 2004.
