Biography

Dr. Ramesh Kothari, is currently working as Professor in Microbiology and Coordinator of M.Sc. Biotechnology program at Department of Biosciences, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, India. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the M & N. Virani Science College, Rajkot in 1994. He completed Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Saurashtra University, Rajkot in 1996. He then received a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Saurashtra University, Rajkot in 2003. Soon after he joined Christ College- Rajkot as an Assistant Professor in Microbiology and served for 14 years. He also visited University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ- Now Rutgers University) Newark, USA in 2012 as a visiting researcher for his post-doctoral research. In 2014, he joined in Saurashtra University as a Professor in Microbiology and guiding a number of M.Sc., M. Phil., Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Scholars in research area such as Bioremediation, Probiotics and Metagenomics. 10 Ph.D. and 06 M. Phil. students have completed their research and eight Ph.D. and one M.Phil. Students are pursuing their research under his supervision as on April, 2021.
