Biography

Dr. Costantino obtained her Education Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Napoli on June 1990 and Ph.D in “Chemistry of Natural Product”on October 1995, obtained from the same University, with scientific adviser Prof. Ernesto Fattorusso. Position held October 1995- April 1996 Research assistant at the Department of Chemistry of Natural Products, Univesity of Naploli (Italy) April 1996- April 1998 Postdoctoral fellowship in the same Department. October 1997- October 1998 Teaching assistant, Faculty of Engineering, Salerno. April 1998-November 1999 Research assistant at the Department of Chemistry of Natural Products, Univesity of Napoli (Italy). November 1996-October 1999 Teaching assistant, Organic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Products, Faculty of Pharmacy,Napoli (Italy) Novembre 1999-Ottobre 2003 Assistant Professor, General Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Products, Faculty of Pharmacy, Naples. Research Interest

Marine Chemistry, Chemistry of marine natural products, with particular emphasis on glicosphyngolipids: isolation, structure determination and bioactivity, Synthesis of analogues of marine glycosphingolipids which possess immunomodulating activity, Anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory natural lead compounds.
