Dr. EkokobeFonkemis currently an assistant professor of Medicine at Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine and Director of the Brain Tumor Center at Baylor Scott & White Health Care. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2002. He received his DO degree at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007 and went on to complete internship and neurology residency training at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH, followed by Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Harvard University Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on brain tumors and neurological complications associated with brain tumors. He maintained members with the American Academy of Neurology, Society of Clinical Oncology and Society of Neuro-Oncology.
Dr. EkokobeFonkemis research areas include neurological complications of primary brain tumors and metastatic brain tumors, both immunological and metabolic therapies for the treatment of these tumors. He has also interested in quality of life issues in patients with brain tumors.
