Assistant Professor Eleni Golomazou completed her undergraduate studies in Agricultural Animal Production Science (specialized in ichthyology and aquaculture) and her Ph.D. thesis was on the field of fish diseases, at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Greece. Since 2007, she is an academic stuff at the Department of Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment at School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece in the scientific field of aquatic animal health protection and welfare.
Her research interests are focused on parasitic, bacterial and viral diseases of cultured and wild fish, zoonoses, fish welfare and health management, development of molecular techniques for pathogen detection and identification and use of medicinal plants in aquaculture.
