I completed my undergraduate studies in Agricultural Animal Production Science, (specialization in ichthyology and aquaculture), at the Department of Agriculture of Plant and Animal Production, University of Thessaly, Greece. My Ph.D. thesis was in fish diseases and was carried out at the same University at the Department of Veterinary Medicine. Since 2007, I am lecturer in aquatic animal health at the Department of Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment, School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece and I teach in the area of fish diseases, biosecurity in aquaculture and fish health management. My research interests are focused on parasitic, bacterial and viral diseases of cultured and wild fish, development of molecular techniques for pathogens detection and identification, fish welfare, health management in organic aquaculture, use of phytobiotics and responsible use of drugs in aquaculture.
