Biography

Estefanía Muñoz Atienza graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Spain, in 2008. She joined the Department of Nutrition, Bromatology and Food Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCM) in September 2008 to carry out her Master's Thesis, followed by her Doctoral Thesis. She completed her MSc in Research in Veterinary Science in 2009 and PhD in Veterinary Science in 2015 from the Faculty of Veterinary (UCM), obtaining the maximum grade (Excellent cum laude) with the “European Doctorate” Mention. During her predoctoral education, she performed several research stays in European research laboratories, namely the Laboratory of Aquaculture and Artemia Reference Center (Department of Animal Production, Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University, Belgium), the Institute of Industrial Fermentations of the Spanish National Research Council (Madrid, Spain), the Microbiology Service at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital (Madrid, Spain), the Oceanographic Center of Vigo (Spain) and the Center of Biological Research at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
