Ezekiel Gebissa, (Ph.D. History, Michigan State), is Professor of History and African Studies at Kettering University. He is the author of Leaf of Allah: Khat and the Transformation of Agriculture in Harerge Ethiopia, 1875–1991 sole editor of two books to which I contributed several chapters, and of more than a dozen articles in highly regarded international journals, several book chapters, and numerous book reviews. He has served as editor-in-chief of major academic journals, as book review editor of a journal, and online moderator of an electronic list. His research interest includes processes of commoditization of psychoactive plants and criminalization of cultural uses of psychoactive substances
