Farhan Ahmad

Biography

Farhan Ahmad is currently a Senior Scientist in the Centre for Applied Materials Sciences at Pall Corporation. Pall Corporation is a leader in the filtration, separation, and purification industry. Dr. Ahmad studied Petrochemical Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University, India and Materials Science and Engineering at GIST, South Korea. He then moved to the United States where he obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University. His Ph.D. research at MSU and postdoctoral work at the University of Washington was focused on the development of low-cost microfluidic-based gene analysis systems for rapid pathogen diagnosis in field conditions. His current research interests lie at the intersection of engineering and molecular biology. He is currently involved in developing and implementing innovative state-of-the-art molecular technologies to improve and accelerate characterization of filter membrane. Dr. Ahmad authored about 20 peer-reviewed research papers in the journals of International repute. He is also serving on the Editorial Board of about 5 scientific journals and as reviewer in 10 journals.
