Biography

Dr Fernanda Maranhão has received her PhD at the University of São Paulo after experience in a research group of fungi genetic (USP, 2004-2008) and the postdoctoral in the Department of Medical Microbiology at Federal University of Ceará (UFC, 2009-2010), in the areas of Molecular Biology of fungi, focusing in genic expression and pathogenesis. Since 2010, she is working as professor in the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), acting with research and extension in the Laboratory of General and Medical Microbiology (LMGC).

Research Interest

Host-fungi interactions, fungal genetics, molecular biology, medical mycology, molecular mechanisms of antimicrobial drug resistance, molecular diagnosis, epidemiology and bioprospection, specially about Candida spp. and dermatophytes.
