Biography

Dr. Fiona Zwald is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology with a secondary appointment in the Department of Surgery Division of Transplantation at Emory University She received her medical degree from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland/National University of Ireland in Dublin in 1990 After completing her residencies in medicine and dermatology in Ireland Dr Zwald came to the United States where she completed a residency in Dermatology at the Emory University School of Medicine During this time she was also a NRSA postdoctoral fellow in the research laboratory of Dr Robert Swerlick After completing a clinical research fellowship in the Dermatology Branch of the National Institutes of Health Dr Zwald completed a clinical fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Vanderbilt University In addition to serving on the Executive Board of Directors of the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative and to her general dermatology clinic and Mohs surgery clinics Dr Zwald has developed a dermatology clinic on site at the Emory Hospital Transplant Clinic where she sees patients who have received a solid organ transplant She is also the author on over a dozen research articles review articles and book chapters

Research Interest

Medical and surgical dermatologic care of the solid organ transplant population both pre-transplant and post-transplant.
