Dr. Francisco Socola is presently working as Bone Marrow Transplant fellow at Stanford University. He studied medicine at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima-Peru and obtained his MD degree in 2008. He undertook further postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami from 2011-2014 and Hematology/Oncology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from 2014-2017. He has written several journal articles and abstracts.
His special interest is finding new ways to improve the outcomes of reduced-intensity haploidentical stem cell transplant in different hematologic malignancies with special interest in myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia. He thinks that a good way to practice academic medicine is by reviewing articles for publication in a good journal.
