Assistant Professor Espinoza has received her MD at Louisiana State University, New Orleans, Louisiana, during the period of 1996 to 2000. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine and an Ophthalmology residency at Washington University, Saint Louis, Missouri, in 2004. She has successfully completed a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Currently, she is working as director of Oculoplastics in the department of Ophthalmology at Saint Louis University, Saint Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Espinoza has research in clinical ophthalmology, with particular interest in pediatric diseases such as nasolacrimal duct obstruction and congenital eyelid abnormalities. She also works with adults and has an interest in orbital inflammatory disease, and autoimmune diseases such as Thyroid Eye Disease. Ongoing studies include evaluation of facial morphology, orbital fracture outcomes, and Thyroid Eye Disease.
