Born in Florence (Italy) the 3rd of June 1971, graduated cum laude in 1998 in Forestry at the University of Florence, PhD in Forest Management at the University of Tuscia in 2002. From 1998 to 1999 Assistant Researcher at the National Research Council - Institute for the Application of Remote Sensing in Agriculture and at CeSIA (Centre for Computer Science in Agriculture) - Academy of Georgofili, Florence. From 2000 to 2004 responsible of the geoLAB – Laboratory of Geomatics at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Florence (www.geolab.unifi.it). In 2002-2003 Contract Professor at the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti (Italy). Since 1st November 2005 Associate Professor of Applied Geomatics and Forest Inventory at the University of Molise (Isernia, Italy).
Application of geomatics to forestry. Remote sensing, forest inventories and monitoring, sustainable forest management, land planning, landscape ecology, biodiversity. Forest fires and climate change. Bio-geo-chemicals models, decision support systems and forest ecology.
