Dr. Gianluca De Leo is an Assistant Professor at Old Dominion University. Dr. De Leo received an MS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genova (Italy) in 1999, a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Bioelectronics from the University of Genova (Italy) in 2003, and an MBA from Saint Louis University, Saint Louis in 2005. Dr. De Leo research interests are related to the design, the development and the assessment with clinical trials of different e-heath solutions such as an automated telephone call center for the education and monitor of patients with diabetes and a game based virtual environment for helping children with cerebral palsy to walk on a treadmill. Dr. De Leo has recently created a research based augmentative and alternative communication system for iPhone, iPad and Windows for increasing the communication skills of children and adults with communication disabilities called I Click I Talk.
