Gianmarco Vizzeri, M.D. is Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Texas Medical Branch. He is also Medical Director of the Ophthalmology Clinical Research Center and serves as Associate Residency Program Director. Dr Vizzeri is a graduate magna cum laude from the University of Torino, Italy and has successfully completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center, Department of Ophthalmology, University of California San Diego. Dr Vizzeri is a clinician and a scientist. He has developed expertise in glaucoma and has authored and co-authored over 80 journal articles, abstracts and book chapters in major ophthalmic publications. Dr Vizzeri has presented the results of his research at numerous national and international meetings. His current main areas of research interest include ocular imaging, electrophysiology, ocular blood flow and glaucoma surgery. Dr Vizzeri is actively collaborating with the Flight Analog Research Unit at NASA. Dr. Vizzeri is member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He serves as Reviewer for Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Journal of Glaucoma and International Glaucoma Review, among others.
