Haiyan Luo

Biography

Dr. Haiyan Luo is a full time research fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at Cooper Union. She received the B.Eng. and M.Sc. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 1999 and 2002 respectively. From 2002 to 2004, she was an assistant professor in the State Key Lab of Coal Combustion, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She got her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2008. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Luo worked in the Philips Display Crop., Hong Kong as a senior thermal engineer. In 2011 Dr. Luo worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow in Texas A&M University. Dr. Luo is currently an assistant editor of Journal of Power Technologies.

Research Interest

fluid-structure interaction, combustion simulation, particle image velocimetry, two-phase flow, aerodynamics, heat transfer and biomechanics.
