Hengye Man

Biography

Dr. Heng-Ye Man is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at Boston University. He received his Ph.D. from Toronto University in 2001. He continued his research in the Department of Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University as a postdoctoral fellow until 2005, when he joined the faculty at Boston University in the Biology Department. Dr. Man’s research focuses on: Regulation of glutamate receptor trafficking and turnover, and the role of glutamate receptor dynamics in synaptic plasticity, learning and memory; Neuron morphogenesis, including axon initiation, neuronal polarization and dendritic pruning; The cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological disorders, including Angelman Syndrome, autism and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Man has authored research articles in journals including Nature, Science, Cell, Neuron, J of Neuroscience and PNAS.
