Born in 1965 in Tartu (Estonia) and graduated cum laude in 1990 as forestry engineer at the Estonian Agricultural University. PhD in forestry at the Estonian University of Life Sciences in 2009. Since 1994 working at the Department of Forest Management, Estonian University of Life Sciences as Associate Professor (Forest Management and Policy) and Head of Department. Member of Society for Ecological Restoration and auditor of forest certification (FSC and PEFC).
