Honglei Huang, PhD
Senior research scientist, Central proteomics facility, Targeted Discovery Institute
University of Oxford, UK
Dr Honglei Huang is now working as a senior scientist at the Targeted Discovery Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford. He earned his PhD at Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, Beijing, China. He then moved to United Kingdom and started his scientific career. He interested in metabolomics, proteomics and glycobiology and applied all those tools to study cancer cell signalling, cancer metabolome/proteome changes, infectious disease molecular markers and pathogen-host interaction mechanisms. He published 14 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. After years of research in malaria, he discovered molecular markers can predict the severity of malaria and distinguish from pneumonia. Those two molecular markers were patented and are now seeking commercialization. He had reviewed papers for proteomics journal reviewed grand application for Kidney Transplantation UK.
