Dr. J. Antonio Torres is an Industrial, Chemical and Food Process Engineer born in Chile currently leading a Food Process Engineering Group at Oregon State University in collaboration with colleagues at OSU, Mexico, Chile, Spain, Portugal and now China. He attended Catholic U. of Chile where he received B.S. degrees in Mathematics, Industrial and Chemical Engineering. In the USA, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received an MSc degree in Food Microbiology and a PhD in Food Engineering. His expertise covers statistical design of food processing, packaging, and storage; pressure processing technologies, and production and application of biomolecules and biopolymers.
