Dr. Jeff Dressel earned his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Kansas. He is a cognitive psychologist serving as a Human Factors Specialist with CSSI, Inc., in Washington, DC. Jeff has been employed as an assistant professor at Texas Tech University, and as a researcher at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Multitasking, specifically multimodal integration of visual and aural attention. He has applied this work to safety issues in transportation, specifically the increased accident risk drivers experience while conversing on a mobile phone. Additionally, his research has included measurement of situation awareness, workload, and team cognition in aviation, including Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Air Traffic Control.
