China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China
Dr. Jian Liu is a professor and the director of the department of Applied Chemistry of China University of Petroleum. He worked in the China National Petroleum Corporation (1995-2002) as an engineer. Between 2002 and 2008 he studied with the supervision of Professor Chunming Xu and Zhen Zhao, then he synthesized and characterized a whole set of novel nanocatalysts for the cleaner petroleum production and the pollution effects and catalytic purifying of PM2.5. He earned his PhD 2008 in chemical engineering from China University of Petroleum and obtained the best Dissertation Nominee Awards in China. He has published over 50 research papers and authored two book chapters in the area of environmental catalysis. He is a member of ACS,RSC and CESS. He served as a reviewer of manuscripts for scientific journals in the areas of physical chemistry, materials and environmental science. In 2011 he received the New Century Excellent Talent Awards by the Ministry of Education in China.
Research Interests are currently concentrated on the pollution effects and catalytic purifying of PM2.5. Focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanometer materials, macroporous oxides and heterogeneous catalysts.
