Jian Zhou

Biography

Dr. Jian Zhou obtained his PhD degree in 2004 from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), under the guidance of Prof. Yong Tang. After working as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor ShÅ« Kobayashi at the University of Tokyo and with Professor Benjamin List at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, he joined Shanghai Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Processes at East China Normal University as a Professor from the end of 2008. Professor Zhou’s research interests mainly focus on the catalytic asymmetric economical construction of tetrasubstituted stereogenic centers through the development of new chiral catalysts, new reactions and new synthetic strategies. He has received the “Thieme Chemistry Journal Award 2011”. He is now the member of Advisory Board of Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry.
