Joel Reynolds

Dr. Joel Reynolds is an assistant professor in the College of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Niagara University. Dr. Reynolds teaches courses focused around foodservice management, such as wine and culture, cost controls, and introduction to foodservice operations.
He received his bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He continued his education at the University of Rhode Island receiving a Master’s degree in Adult Education. Finally, Professor Reynolds conducted his doctoral studies in Hospitality Management at Iowa State University.
His teaching interested are in foodservice management, specifically around food safety and wine education. Dr. Reynolds research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and focuses on food safety. He is a certified executive chef, certified hospitality and culinary educator, and a sommelier. Previously Reynolds taught hospitality management courses at the University of South Carolina. He also comes with extensive industry experience as a chef in several fine dining restaurants.
