Dr. Joseph Gigante USAreceived his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY. He attended medical school at the State University of New York School at Stony Brook School of Medicine, graduating in 1988 and completed his residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University in 1991. Dr. Gigante began his Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and completed his training at Vanderbilt in 1994. In addition to his appointment to the Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics faculty, Dr. Gigante also serves as Adjunct Faculty in Pediatrics in the Physician Assistant Department at Trevecca Nazarene University and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. A teaching award, The Joseph Gigante Award, Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics, was named in his honor in 2009. From 2006-2008 he served as Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Pediatrics. He was the pediatrics clerkship director for third year Vanderbilt University School of Medicine students from 2000-2009 and is the co-coordinator for the primary care selective for fourth year medical students.
