Jun Lu is an Assistant Professor at Division of Biochemistry, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, Karolinska institutet in Sweden. He got a B.Sc. degree in Sichuan University, China in 1992 and a M.Sc. degree in the same university in 1995. In 1999 he obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Jun Lu worked as a STA and then a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at RIKEN in Japan (2000-2002). Then he joined Professor Arne Holmgren’s laboratory of Medical Nobel Institute for Biochemistry, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics at Karolinska institutet as a postdoc in 2003 and continued to work as a Researcher and Senior Researcher up to 2009. His current research interest is redox biochemistry and pharmacology, focuses to develop anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, and anti-cancer drugs targeting mammalian, bacterial and parasitic thiol/selenol- dependent redox system.
