Dr. Kaihong Su is currently an associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After she obtained her bachelor and master degree in Nankai University in China, she went to the United States in 1993. She obtained her doctorate degree and post-doctoral training from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was promoted to assistant professor at UAB. In 2008, she relocated her lab to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The long-term goal of her lab is to understand the molecular mechanisms of inflammation and autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. Her research has been supported by several grants from NIH and other agencies. She has published more than 30 research papers in reputed journals and served as an editor and ad-hoc reviewer for a number of journals.
