Biography

Dr. K. Shams earned his BSc degrees in chemical and petrochemical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in Tehran, Iran. He earned his MSc degree in chemical engineering at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He earned his PhD degree in chemical engineering and petroleum refining from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. He did a post-doctoral study in energy, environment, and soil remediation at Colorado School of Mines. He has attended at University of Colorado at Boulder for one year. He has visited Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and University of Bradford in Bradford, England. Dr. Shams has six years of industrial experience. Currently, Dr. Shams is an associate professor of chemical engineering at Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a visiting professor at Jiaotong University in Xian, China. He has a wide range of research interests, and is the director of the Center for Fine Chemicals and Catalytic Systems at Isfahan University of Technology. He has taught many undergraduate and graduate courses, and several short courses for various chemical industries. Dr. Shams has published a number of research papers in prestigious international journals, and has translated two books in Process Dynamics and Automatic Control. He is a member of several international and national scientific societies.
