Kimberly Vance
Department of Nursing and Emergency Medicine, Berkeley Research Group
USA
Kim served in several different care settings and has held progressive roles in healthcare leadership. The majority of this experience was in an acute care setting, with a focus on serving complex patient populations. Kim held numerous emergency department (ED) leadership positions where she built a collaborative team, implementing measures to reduce the number of patients leaving without being seen by a physician, reduce door to provider time, and improve quality and patient perception metrics. Partnerships with University of Cincinnati School of Nursing faculty members on ED research has resulted in joint publication as well as national presentations. Kim has spent considerable time collaborating with the Greater Cincinnati Community to ensure that patients have access to continued care outside of the hospital setting; focusing on wellness and primary medical homes for patients seen in the ED.
