Biography
Prof. Thongprasom obtained her dental degree at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1977. She completed her MSc. in Oral
Medicine at the University College of London, Eastman Dental Institute, United Kingdom in 1988. She achieved the highest level Professorship in Oral
Medicine in 2011. Currently, she is a President of the Board Oral Diagnostic Science, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Thailand (RCDST) and Director of the Research Unit in Oral Diseases. In 2004, she became the founder and the first President of the
Oral Diseases Group of Thailand. She was also a Secretary General of Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Thailand (RCDST) during 2007-2010. She is a member in the editorial boards of many leading international
dentistry journals, and has been a member of the European Association of Oral
Medicine (EAOM) since 2003. She has published in the area of Oral Medicine, written over 66 peer-reviewed papers, 9 textbooks and has been invited as a distinguished guest lecturer both internationally and nationally as well.
Research Interest
Her research has focused on clinical, immunological, and therapeutic aspects of oral diseases especially in oral lichen planus and vesiculobullous lesions.
