Biography

Dr. Li Lin completed his undergraduate at the College of Fishery, Ocean University of China, Master degree on biology at the School of the Life Sciences, South China Normal University, China. Thereafter, supported by the DAAD scholarship, he finished his doctoral dissertation at Heinrich Pette Institute at Hamburg University, Germany and obtained his PhD on biology at Sun Yat-sen University, China. After half year training on fish diseases at Kamiura Station, National Research Institute of Fisheries Science in Japan and eight years postdoctoral trainings at Pennsylvania State University, Rice University in the USA and University of Saskatchewan in Canada, he returned to China. Since 2012, he is a Chutian endowed professor and the head of the Department of Aquatic Animal Medicine, College of Fishery, Huazhong Agricultural University, China. His research interests focus on two major subjects, infection and immunity as well as microorganisms and aquatic environment. Recently, he has focused on the piscine nodavirus epidemic, replication, infection and innate immune responses as well as physiology of Bacillus sp. in the aquatic environment. He is the author/coauthor of more than 40 peer-reviewed papers. He is also serving as an editorial member in three scientific journals and as a reviewer in 17 scientific journals.
