Dr. LI Mingjiang is an Assistant Professor at S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is also the Coordinator of the China Program and the Coordinator of the MSc. in Asian Studies Program at RSIS. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University. He is the author (including editor and co-editor) of 9 books. His recent books are Mao’s China a12) and Soft Power: China’s Emerging Strategy in International Politics (Lexington-Rowman & Littlefield, 2009). He has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals including Global Governance, Cold War History, Journal of Contemporary China, The Chinese Journal of International Politics, and China: An International Journal, China Security, Security Challenges, the International Spectator, and Panorama (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung). He frequently participates in various track-two forums in East Asia.
China’s diplomatic history, the rise of China in the context of East Asian regional relations and Sino-U.S. relations, and domestic sources of China’s international strategies.
