Dr. Liem Nguyen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. from the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic. He did his postdoctoral training at the Biozentrum, University of Basel, and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of British Columbia. Dr. Nguyens research is focused on antibiotic resistance and virulence mechanisms of pathogenic bacteria.
Antibiotic resistance and bacterial pathogenesis, genetics and cell biology of mycobacteria, pathogenic mycobacteria-host interactions, tuberculosis latent infection, metabolic control in bacteria.
