Mahmoud AbouLaila

Biography

Mahmoud R. AbouLaila is an Associate Professor of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sadat City, Egypt. He was a visiting researcher at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan. He was JSPS fellow at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan. He Obtained his Ph.D. from Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan. He worked as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Minoufiya University, Minoufiya, Egypt. During his Ph.D. and the fellowships, he focused on developing diagnostic and drug therapy for Babesia and Theileria Parasites. He also identified the drug target enzymes in Babesia Parasites for some drugs. He identified some proteins as vaccine candidates for Babesia control. He conducted molecular and serological epidemiological surveys for these parasites worldwide.

Research Interest

His research interests include diagnosis and treatment of parasitic infections, molecular diagnosis and production of an effective drug for Babesia parasites, diagnosis, treatment, and vaccines for the parasites.
